Il Cammino del Santo Marino rientra in un progetto più ampio per la valorizzazione della Repubblica di San Marino come meta di turismo religioso, di pellegrinaggio, di preghiera e di devozione sulle orme del Santo Fondatore, con uno sguardo diverso rispetto a quello convenzionale. San Marino è l’unico Santo Fondatore di uno Stato e Patrono di una Repubblica e di una Diocesi, che porta il suo nome assieme ai compatroni San Leone e Sant’Agata. Marino è stato il punto di riferimento per la nascita e lo sviluppo della più antica Repubblica del mondo ad oggi esistente. I cristiani di questa nazione hanno sempre venerato con particolare devozione, ancor viva oggi nei fedeli, la memoria della presenza di San Marino nel territorio della Repubblica, che da lui prende nome, e ne hanno custodito con premura le reliquie attualmente conservate nella Basilica del Santo: il cuore pulsante della vita religiosa dello Stato del Titano e che rappresenta anche un luogo di grande importanza per la sua storia civile. Il Cammino del Santo Marino ripercorre i passi del Santo, originario dell’isola di Arbe – nella Dalmazia settentrionale: da questo luogo parte il pellegrinaggio di fede, di storia e di cultura sulle orme del Patrono e Fondatore della Repubblica che ne porta il nome glorioso. Alla fine del III secolo il Santo Marino venne in Italia insieme a San Leo, per la ricostruzione delle mura di Rimini, e da qui salì e si stabilì nella Repubblica di San Marino. Il Cammino prosegue poi verso San Leo, la città fortificata che si trova sul monte Feretrio, fondata dall’omonimo santo, amico e compagno di viaggio di San Marino, ed infine, raggiunge Pennabilli, sede vescovile della Diocesi, San Marino – Montefeltro.

The Saint Marino Trail is part of a broader project to promote the Republic of San Marino as a destination for religious tourism, pilgrimage, prayer, and devotion, following in the footsteps of its Founding Saint, with a different perspective than conventional wisdom. San Marino is the only Founding Saint of a State and Patron of a Republic and a Diocese, which bears his name along with his co-patrons Saint Leo and Saint Agatha. San Marino was the pivotal figure in the birth and development of the world's oldest existing Republic. The Christians of this nation have always venerated with particular devotion, a memory still alive today among the faithful, the memory of San Marino's presence in the territory of the Republic, which takes his name. They have carefully preserved his relics, currently preserved in the Basilica of the Saint: the beating heart of the religious life of the State of San Marino and also a place of great importance for its civil history. The Way of Saint Marino retraces the steps of the Saint, a native of the island of Rab in northern Dalmatia. From this place begins a pilgrimage of faith, history, and culture in the footsteps of the Patron Saint and Founder of the Republic that bears his glorious name. At the end of the 3rd century, Saint Marino came to Italy with Saint Leo for the reconstruction of the walls of Rimini, and from there he ascended and settled in the Republic of San Marino. The Way then continues to San Leo, the fortified city located on Mount Feretrio, founded by the saint of the same name, a friend and traveling companion of San Marino, and finally reaches Pennabilli, the episcopal seat of the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro.
