– Alpi Carniche
– Alpi Giulie – Valbruna e Lussari
– Alpi Giulie – Sella Nevea e Cave del Predil
– Alpi Giulie – Laghi di Fusine
– Alpi Giulie Slovene e Parco Nazionale del Triglav
Much loved by hikers and mountaineers who live nearby, the Carnic and Julian Alps are virtually unknown to Italian mountain enthusiasts who live further away, and who normally head towards the Dolomites or other more famous ranges. In Slovenia, however, Triglav is one of the national symbols and a maxim holds that anyone who has not climbed its peak is not a true Slovenian citizen.
There are not only the peaks, of course. At the foot of Jôf di Montasio, Jôf Fuart, Canin, Mangart and Triglav, the Tarvisio Forest and the Triglav National Park form one of the most important green lungs in Europe. The same goes for the valleys and forests of the Carnic Alps. Hikers are reminded of this reality by the ibex clinging to the rocks, the deer and roe deer in the woods, a great variety of birds, and the blooms that include various endemic species. And the bear, difficult to spot but the symbol of the wilderness of the Alps.
The 70 excursions offered are divided into five distinct areas:
– Carnic Alps
– Julian Alps – Valbruna and Lussari
– Julian Alps – Sella Nevea and Cave del Predil
– Julian Alps – Fusine Lakes
– Slovenian Julian Alps and Triglav National Park
