From Cap de Creus to the Maladeta Massif
The GR 11 is the trail that allows us to cross the Pyrenees from one end to the other. Approximately half of this path passes through Catalan-speaking lands: Catalonia, the Principality of Andorra and the Franja de Ponent. In total, about 400 km. For the first time we can enjoy a guide written in Catalan and, therefore, we start walking from the end of the trail we have in Catalonia, at Cap de Creus, where the Pyrenees emerge strongly from the Mediterranean and we finish the adventure in Benás, at the foot of the great peaks of more than 3,000 m. Twenty-three stages that each hiker can easily adapt to their needs and tastes, lengthening or shortening them. A guide designed to be useful both for those who, like the author, want to do the entire route in one go, and for those who want to follow only a specific section. You can only love what you know. This guide will take you through beautiful valleys, along leafy paths, along ridges open to the wind. You will rest next to abundant springs or with your feet in the icy water of a lake or stream or in the shade of a good oak tree. You will regain strength for the next day while sharing a table and conversation in a shelter or walking through the alleys of various towns... And when you are home you will realize that you love those areas and their people much more than before you left.
