Estese sul vasto territorio montuoso compreso fra il Lago d’Idro a ovest e il Lago di Garda a est, le Prealpi Gardesane Occidentali costituiscono un variegato ambiente montano che offre ampie possibilità escursionistiche, sia estive che invernali, con panorami dominati dall’azzurro specchio d’acqua del Lago di Garda e dalla Catena del Monte Baldo.
Questa guida presenta una selezione di 130 cime che permettono di soddisfare sia le preferenze degli escursionisti che le esigenze degli alpinisti, con pareti verticali su cui sono stati ricavati sia percorsi attrezzati e vie ferrate, sia impegnative vie di roccia, come nell’area di Cima Capi e sulle pareti intorno ad Arco. Ad ognuna delle cime è dedicata una scheda con descrizione del percorso, dislivelli, tempi di salita e totali, difficoltà, attrezzatura necessaria o consigliata e quanto altro possa essere utile per documentarsi prima di effettuare la salita della cima. Se poi si considerano anche le informazioni aggiuntive che vengono fornite su altre 80 cime vicine a quelle principali ecco che il numero di vette coinvolte nel libro sale a un totale di 210.
L’escursionista amante dei percorsi lungo panoramiche creste e dorsali potrà trovare in questa guida numerosi itinerari per piacevoli escursioni coronate dal raggiungimento delle cime proposte, le cui vie normali non presentano particolari difficoltà e sono ideali nelle mezze stagioni o in inverno. Il tutto accompagnato dalle importanti testimonianze storiche della Grande Guerra 1915-18, il cui fronte montano ha oltremodo interessato le Prealpi Gardesane che ancora oggi presentano numerosi resti di trinceramenti e fortificazioni.

Extending over the vast mountainous territory between Lake Idro to the west and Lake Garda to the east, the Western Gardesane Prealps constitute a varied mountain environment that offers ample hiking opportunities, both in summer and winter, with views dominated by the blue waters of Lake Garda and the Monte Baldo mountain range.
This guide presents a selection of 130 peaks that can satisfy both the preferences of hikers and the needs of mountaineers, with vertical walls on which both equipped routes and via ferratas have been created, as well as challenging rock routes, such as in the Cima Capi area and on the walls around Arco. Each of the peaks is dedicated to a sheet with a description of the route, altitude differences, ascent and total times, difficulty, necessary or recommended equipment and anything else that may be useful for obtaining information before climbing the peak. If we then also consider the additional information that is provided on 80 other peaks near the main ones, the number of peaks involved in the book rises to a total of 210.
The hiker who loves routes along panoramic crests and ridges will be able to find in this guide numerous itineraries for pleasant excursions crowned by reaching the proposed peaks, whose normal routes do not present particular difficulties and are ideal in the mid-seasons or in winter. All accompanied by the important historical testimonies of the Great War 1915-18, whose mountain front also affected the Gardesane Prealps which still today present numerous remains of trenches and fortifications.
