Der Pfälzerwald ist das größte zusammenhängende Waldgebiet Deutschlands und die Rebhänge am Westrand der klimatisch milden Rheinebene wird die »Toskana Deutschlands« genannt. Durch sie verläuft die 80 Kilometer lange Deutsche Weinstraße. Sie verbindet zwischen Bockenheim im Norden und Schweigen im Süden an der Grenze zu Frankreich bezaubernde Winzerorte. Die Nähe zum Elsass trägt mit zur Pfälzer Lebensart bei, das französische »Savoir-vivre« ist bereits spürbar.
Der Pfälzer Autor Jörg-Thomas Titz hat 50 Genusswanderungen zwischen Kaiserslautern und dem Elsass zusammengestellt. Zu jeder Wanderung sind sorgfältig recherchierte Einkehrtipps und Hinweise zu Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten am Weg aufgeführt. The Palatinate Forest is the largest contiguous forest area in Germany and the vineyards on the western edge of the climatically mild Rhine plain are called the »Tuscany of Germany«. The 80 km long German Wine Route runs through it. It connects enchanting winegrowing villages between Bockenheim in the north and Schweigen in the south on the border with France. The proximity to Alsace contributes to the Palatinate way of life, the French "Savoir-vivre" is already noticeable.
The Palatinate author Jörg-Thomas Titz has put together 50 leisurely hikes between Kaiserslautern and Alsace. Carefully researched tips for places to stop and information on overnight accommodation along the way are listed for each hike. Exact route descriptions, detailed hiking maps with marked routes and significant elevation profiles help you find your way around. GPS data is also available for download.
