400 Km a piedi dai passi alpini a Vercelli

400 km on foot from the Alpine passes to Vercelli

The first Italian steps of the Francigena start from three passes - Gran San Bernardo, Monginevro and Moncenisio - to continue in the Aosta Valley or in the Susa Valley, on the two sides of the Dora Riparia. Along ancient paths and Roman roads you descend to the vast horizons of the plain between imposing fortifications, from Bard to Exilles, and medieval abbeys such as Novalesa and the Sacra di San Michele. A bundle of different itineraries to choose from, which come together in Vercelli, the center of diffusion of early Christianity.

A guide to explore the different historically documented routes from which pilgrims set off to Rome, along one of the most fascinating and famous routes in Europe. With all the essential information to set out on the journey: detailed maps, altimetries, step-by-step descriptions of the route, where to sleep and places to visit.
