La Via attraversa gli affioramenti gessosi più estesi d’Europa, in un paesaggio sorprendente costellato di cristalli scintillanti, grotte, doline e formazioni calanchive. Il percorso copre circa 100 km, suddivisi in 7 tappe modulabili, e si snoda su sentieri, sterrate e asfaltate secondarie, facendo tappa in alcuni dei Borghi più Belli d’Italia, come Dozza e Brisighella, e rinomate località termali come Riolo Terme. Il camminatore potrà immergersi con lentezza nelle unicità geologiche e naturalistiche, nella storia dei borghi medievali con le loro antiche rocche e nel piacere di un patrimonio enogastronomico unico al mondo.

A hiking itinerary that connects Bologna to Brisighella and Faenza, crossing the Regional Park of the Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi dell’Abbadessa and that of the Vena del Gesso Romagnola (whose gaseous karst formations are candidates for World Heritage). The Via crosses the most extensive gypsum outcrops in Europe, in a surprising landscape dotted with sparkling crystals, caves, sinkholes and calanquet formations. The route covers about 100 km, divided into 7 modular stages, and winds along paths, dirt roads and secondary asphalt roads, stopping in some of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, such as Dozza and Brisighella, and renowned spa towns such as Riolo Terme. The walker will be able to slowly immerse himself in the geological and naturalistic uniqueness, in the history of the medieval villages with their ancient fortresses and in the pleasure of a food and wine heritage unique in the world.
