Der Arctic Circle Trail führt etwa 100 km nördlich des Polarkreises vom Flugplatz Kangerlussuaq zur Hafenstadt Sisimiut. Dazwischen liegen 180 km Weg durch eine faszinierende Landschaft aus Hunderten kleinerer und größerer Seen, Bergen, Bächen, Fjäll und Flüssen. Dieses Buch liefert für die Wanderung zahlreiche allgemeine Tipps (z. B. zu An- und Abreise, Orientierung und Wandertechnik) und eine detaillierte Wegbeschreibung, die auch Angaben zu Länge, Dauer und Schwierigkeitsgrad der Etappen sowie Hinweise zu Zeltplätzen oder Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in Hütten enthält. Bei der Orientierung helfen Kartenskizzen und Höhenprofile, zusätzlich kann ein GPS-Track zum Weg kostenlos im Internet heruntergeladen werden.

The Arctic Circle Trail leads approximately 100 km north of the Arctic Circle from Kangerlussuaq Airfield to the port city of Sisimiut. In between there is a 180 km path through a fascinating landscape of hundreds of smaller and larger lakes, mountains, streams, fells and rivers. This book provides numerous general tips for the hike (e.g. on arrival and departure, orientation and hiking technique) and a detailed route description, which also includes information on the length, duration and difficulty of the stages as well as information on tent sites or overnight accommodation in huts. Map sketches and elevation profiles help with orientation, and a GPS track can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet.
