Dieser Alpinführer umfasst fast 1000 Routenbeschreibungen im Gebiet zwischen der Linthebene über den Tödi bis ins Vorderrheintal (Surselva). Die Glarner Alpen spielten in der Bergsteigergeschichte von Anfang an eine wichtige Rolle (z.B. erstes Exkursionsgebiet des SAC im neunzehnten Jahrhundert) und sie haben von ihrer Ursprünglichkeit und Wildheit bis heute nichts eingebüsst. Die Autoren konzentrierten sich vor allem auf die alpinen Routen, die für jeden Geschmack etwas bieten. Erstmals werden in jedem der elf Teilgebiete zwei bis drei Highlights beschrieben, als spezielle Tipps der Autoren. Die Region bietet grandiose Landschaften und jede Menge Routen weitab vom Touristenstrom.

This alpine guide includes almost 1000 route descriptions in the area between the Lintebene over the Tödi to the Vorderrheintal (Surselva). The Glarus Alps played an important role in mountaineering history from the beginning (e.g. the first SAC excursion area in the nineteenth century) and they have lost none of their originality and wildness to this day. The authors mainly focused on the alpine routes, which offer something for every taste. For the first time, two to three highlights are described in each of the eleven sub-areas, as special tips from the authors. The region offers magnificent landscapes and lots of routes far from the tourist flow.
