The Primiero valley, which extends from the Schener gorge to the Rolle Pass, branching out into small side valleys from the Cismon torrent valley floor to the rocky walls of the Dolomites to the east and the green ridges of the Lagorai to the west, is a concentration of different atmospheres and landscapes, where the solitary flowery meadows of Cima Folga are located, as well as the majestic and popular Val Canali, the magnetic rocky pillars of Sass Maor and Cima della Madonna and the placid waters of Lago Calaita, the trenches of Cavallazza and the governed woods of San Martino, the grandiose outline of Cimon della Pala and the more discreet rocky towers that watch over Forcella delle Sedole. Climbing up towards Passo Rolle and reaching the head of the Travignolo Valley, you can complete the exploration of the western side of the Pale di San Martino, immersing yourself in some of the most majestic and engaging environments of the entire Dolomites, such as the grassy hills surrounding Baita Segantini, Val Venegia, the Paneveggio Forest and the fortified peak of Castelaz. At the same time, you can walk in places such as Colbricon and Cima Bocche, where lunar expanses of debris, sharp rocky teeth and small lakes follow one another along less frequented paths. Without forgetting the unique and surprising experience that can be had by crossing the high-altitude desert of the Altopiano delle Pale.
