La zona presa in esame dalla guida, ovvero Mugello, Casentino e Pratomagno offre all’escursionista un’affascinante prospettiva dove le cime non sono il punto focale del cammino, ma ne rappresentano solo una sfaccettatura.
Sui sentieri di questa regione una gran parte degli itinerari avviene difatti in zone boschive e la descrizione del cammino, per quanto rilassante ed emozionante, potrebbe risultare al lettore piuttosto monotona, quand’anche ostica.
E invece gli itinerari scelti raccontano sì di montagne, ma anche di villaggi abbandonati, di alberi monumentali, di luoghi mistici e leggendari, di eremi solitari.
Alla fine, quella che è venuta fuori è una raccolta di 40 escursioni in luoghi spettacolari e di incredibili storie delle quali la Toscana è ricchissima; il libro quindi si focalizza sull’obiettivo di coinvolgere il lettore in questo viaggio nella natura e
nella storia, che mai come nei boschi e nelle vallate di questa regione si legano in un connubio indissolubile.

The area covered by the guide, namely Mugello, Casentino and Pratomagno, offers the hiker a fascinating perspective where the peaks are not the focal point of the walk, but represent only one facet of it.
On the paths of this region, a large part of the itineraries take place in wooded areas and the description of the walk, although relaxing and exciting, could seem rather monotonous, even difficult, to the reader.
And instead, the chosen itineraries tell of mountains, but also of abandoned villages, monumental trees, mystical and legendary places, solitary hermitages.
In the end, what came out is a collection of 40 excursions in spectacular places and incredible stories of which Tuscany is very rich; the book therefore focuses on the objective of involving the reader in this journey into nature and
into history, which never like in the woods and valleys of this region are linked in an indissoluble bond.
