La Riviera di Levante, nel tratto compreso tra Nervi e Moneglia, è un mosaico di paesaggi, atmosfere e ambienti molto differenti tra loro. I grandi centri urbani di Chiavari o Rapallo, contrastano con le selvagge e solitarie distese di macchia mediterranea di Punta Baffe e di Punta Manara.

Centri di grande tradizione turistica come Portofino e Sestri Levante sono circondati da luoghi ricchi di storia come le Rocche di Sant’Anna o l’Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, senza considerare che, come avviene spesso lungo la costa ligure, in poco più di un’ora di cammino, si può compiere uno straordinario viaggio dal mare alla montagna, dalle spiagge ai castagneti, dalle fioriture primaverili del litorale al clima ancora invernale dei crinali soprastanti. Le numerose piccole sommità che dominano la costa, che spesso ospitano santuari di antiche origini, permettono inoltre di ammirare promontori, insenature, baie e valli da prospettive inedite e sorprendenti. Come avviene per le vicine Cinque Terre inoltre, anche in questa porzione di costa, si comprende come la millenaria frequentazione umana abbia modellato l’ambiente naturale, dando vita a un paesaggio unico al mondo, da conoscere camminando in modo consapevole, superando l’immagine convenzionale che spesso questi borghi colorati e queste amene insenature hanno ormai sedimentato nei nostri occhi e nei nostri pensieri.

The Riviera di Levante, in the stretch between Nervi and Moneglia, is a mosaic of landscapes, atmospheres and environments that are very different from each other. The large urban centers of Chiavari or Rapallo contrast with the wild and solitary expanses of Mediterranean scrub of Punta Baffe and Punta Manara.

Centers with a great tourist tradition such as Portofino and Sestri Levante are surrounded by places rich in history such as the Rocche di Sant’Anna or the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, without considering that, as often happens along the Ligurian coast, in just over an hour's walk, you can make an extraordinary journey from the sea to the mountains, from the beaches to the chestnut groves, from the spring blooms of the coast to the still winter climate of the ridges above. The numerous small summits that dominate the coast, which often host sanctuaries of ancient origins, also allow you to admire promontories, inlets, bays and valleys from new and surprising perspectives. As it happens for the nearby Cinque Terre, also in this portion of the coast, one understands how the millenary human frequentation has shaped the natural environment, giving life to a landscape unique in the world, to be discovered by walking in an aware way, overcoming the conventional image that these colorful villages and these pleasant inlets have often sedimented in our eyes and in our thoughts.
