Val d'Aosta offers new spaces for exploration with the Cammino Balteo. 350 km, 23 stages between 4 and 6 hours between 350 and 1900 meters to get to know the other side of the Aosta Valley. That of rural environments that resist time, of villages, of frescoed churches, of castles, of the tenacious challenges to keep alive the memory of a mountain halfway between the valley floor and the Alte Vie. We could define it as the Path of tradition because the paths that follow it offer emotions and questions about abandonment and rebirth. But above all a modular path that follows the course of the Dora Baltea, but is not satisfied with this, because it goes up the tributaries in the lateral valleys to let us know, with the flow of the water, its ancient bridges and the history of an extraordinarily rich valley of testimonies: ovens, schools, presses, mills, shaved roofs, rascard. Elements of a mountainous and resistant landscape ready to welcome us and amaze us even with some chat enriched with "patois" terms. But above all, a path for almost all seasons, which can be modulated according to needs with optional choices of stages, detours, route reductions, differences in altitude to be mitigated as desired for those who want to savor just a few stretches or tackle it over several years with personal and tasteful choices with a widespread receptivity to self-manage stages and times.
