E’ una delle più lunghe fra le 10 alte vie che attraversano da nord a sud l’intero territorio dolomitico e senz’altro una fra le più belle. Attraversa le magnifiche Odle, il solitario altopiano del Puez, il vasto, elevato gruppo del Sella, aggirando poi i ghiacciai perenni della Marmolada, la regina delle Dolomiti. Impiega due giorni per scavalcare le straordinarie Pale di San Martino, rossastre all’alba e al tramonto e percorrere infine l’aspra cresta delle Vette Feltrine, che prelude all’arrivo al limite settentrionale della pianura veneta. Paolo Cervigni ha descritto tutti i sentieri dell’Alta Via da Bressanone a Feltre suddivisa in 15 tappe del percorso base, lungo 170 chilometri, 8 varianti, in modo da permettere ad ogni escursionista di scegliere il tracciato più adatto alle sue esigenze ed al tempo a disposizione.

It is one of the longest of the 10 high routes that cross the entire Dolomite territory from north to south and certainly one of the most beautiful. It crosses the magnificent Odle, the solitary Puez plateau, the vast, high Sella group, then bypassing the perennial glaciers of the Marmolada, the queen of the Dolomites. It takes two days to climb over the extraordinary Pale di San Martino, reddish at dawn and sunset, and finally cross the rugged ridge of the Vette Feltrine, which is a prelude to arriving at the northern limit of the Venetian plain. Paolo Cervigni has described all the paths of the Alta Via from Bressanone to Feltre divided into 15 stages of the basic route, 170 kilometers long, 8 variations, in order to allow each hiker to choose the route best suited to his needs and the time available disposition.
