Der AlpeAdriaTrail ist eine genussvolle und erlebnisreiche Entdeckungsreise durch die Regionen Kärnten, Slowenien und Friaul-Julisch Venezien. Am Fuß des Großglockners nimmt der rund 650 Kilometer lange Weitwanderweg seinen Ausgang, verläuft gemütlich durch die traumhafte Kulisse der Kärntner Berg- und Seenwelt, durchstreift die slowenischen Kalkalpen und führt über die Weinberge Friauls an die Mittelmeerküste bei Triest. Der Rother Wanderführer »AlpeAdriaTrail« stellt alle 41 Etappen vom Großglockner bis nach Triest vor.

Ein abwechslungsreiches Programm wird hier geboten. Wer das Gletschereis und die zahlreichen Dreitausender der Tauerngruppe sowie die sanften Kuppen der Nockberge hinter sich gelassen hat, den erwartet in Slowenien einer der naturbelassensten Flüsse Mitteleuropas, die Soca. Mit ihrem klaren Türkisblau geleitet sie die Wanderer durch die beeindruckenden Kalkformationen des Triglav-Nationalparks. Schließlich werden die Weinberge Norditaliens durchstreift. Nach rund 41 Etappen und 23.000 Höhenmetern wartet der Sprung in die Fluten der Adria – ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl!

Neben den landschaftlichen Schönheiten ist der Trail auch ein kulturelles und kulinarisches Erlebnis – der Wanderführer bietet ausführliche Informationen zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und viele Tipps zu lohnenden Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Die einzelnen Etappen werden mit exakten Wegbeschreibungen, Kartenausschnitten mit eingezeichnetem Routenverlauf und aussagekräftigen Höhenprofilen präsentiert. Die Autoren Astrid Christ und Martin Marktl kennen die Region von Kindesbeinen an und waren 2012 die ersten, die den Alpe Adria Trail in seiner Gesamtlänge erwandert haben.

The AlpeAdriaTrail is an enjoyable and eventful journey of discovery through the regions of Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. At the foot of the Großglockner, the approximately 650-kilometer long hiking trail begins, runs comfortably through the fantastic backdrop of the Carinthian mountains and lakes, roams the Slovenian Limestone Alps and leads over the Friuli vineyards to the Mediterranean coast near Trieste. A varied program is offered here. Anyone who has left behind the glacier ice and the numerous three-thousand meter peaks of the Tauern Group and the gentle crests of the Nockberge can expect one of the most natural rivers in Central Europe, the Soca. With its clear turquoise blue, it guides hikers through the impressive limestone formations of Triglav National Park. Finally, the vineyards of northern Italy are roamed. After around 41 stages and 23,000 meters of altitude, the jump into the floods of the Adriatic awaits - an indescribable feeling!

In addition to the scenic beauties, the trail is also a cultural and culinary experience - the hiking guide offers detailed information about all the sights and lots of tips on where to stop off. The individual stages are presented with exact directions, map sections with a drawn route and meaningful elevation profiles. The authors Astrid Christ and Martin Marktl have known the region from childhood and in 2012 were the first to hike the Alpe Adria Trail in its entirety.
