The first part is devoted to regional studies and provides information, among other things. about the history of discovery, the climate and the animal inhabitants. Then the author describes over 60 special places on the South Shetland, South Orkney and Falkland Islands, in South Georgia and South America, before finally giving practical tips for an Antarctic cruise. About 150 colored pictures, maps and illustrations complete the text.
