Le vallate delle Orobie Valtellinesi hanno orientamento all’incirca nord-sud e sono racchiuse da montagne severe, con versanti ripidi. I pendii ricchi di itinerari scialpinistici hanno esposizioni prevalentemente da nord est a nord ovest (salvo poche eccezioni) e consentono di trovare neve in ottime condizioni per gran parte della stagione sciistica.
Sebbene molti siano facilmente raggiungibili, agli itinerari più frequentati si affiancano percorsi poco conosciuti, che offrono uno scialpinismo di ricerca ed esplorazione, nei quali non è raro dover battere traccia con le pelli per tutto il percorso di salita, fino ai pendii sui quali lasciare i primi solchi sulla neve intonsa nelle divertenti discese.
Questa guida nasce con l’intento di raccogliere i principali itinerari scialpinistici delle Orobie Valtellinesi e offrire una panoramica quasi completa a chi senta il desiderio di esplorare questa stupenda area geografica, a torto spesso trascurata perché molti itinerari fra le sue valli non sono entrati nel novero delle grandi classiche, ripetute magari ogni stagione.

The valleys of the Orobie Valtellinesi have a roughly north-south orientation and are enclosed by severe mountains, with steep slopes. The slopes rich in ski mountaineering itineraries have mainly north-east to north-west exposures (with a few exceptions) and allow you to find snow in excellent conditions for most of the ski season.
Although many are easily accessible, the most popular itineraries are flanked by little-known routes, which offer a ski mountaineering of research and exploration, in which it is not uncommon to have to beat tracks with skins for the entire ascent route, up to the slopes on which to leave the first furrows on the untouched snow in the fun descents.
This guide was created with the intent of collecting the main ski mountaineering itineraries of the Orobie Valtellinesi and offering an almost complete overview to those who feel the desire to explore this wonderful geographical area, often wrongly overlooked because many itineraries among its valleys have not entered the list of the great classics, perhaps repeated every season.
