This is the definitive guidebook covering the bouldering in Valmasino (Masino Valley) and includes Val di Mello, the location of the annual Melloblocco festival. These granite boulders provide some of the best bouldering to be found in the world in a beautiful setting that is one of the loveliest valleys in the Alps.

The guidebook covers 33 different bouldering areas in the Val Masino area including Val di Mello, Valle dei Bagni, and Piana del Remenno. In total around 2,800 problems are described across a wide range of grades to suit boulders of all abilities.

All the problems are shown on colour photo topos along with a brief description, and Fontainebleau grades are used throughout. At the start of each area is a description of the style of bouldering to be found, a location map, approach information and an aerial colour topo of all the boulders in the area. Symbols then indicate altitude, best time of the year to climb, number of problems covered, and generally how popular the place is.

Published in May 2024 (revised 5th Edition that includes over 300 new problems) this guidebook is written in English text throughout. The guidebook includes many QR codes that link to videos on You-Tube showing the actual problem, via a free simple app. This multi-media approach shows how to climb each problem, how high it is, and how many pads are required, along with other information that may not be obvious from the photo in the guidebook.
