Sono passati più di 15 anni dalla prima edizione di Andonno e Cuneese, la prima guida completa della zona di Cuneo curata da Severino Scassa. In questo lungo periodo di tempo molte sono state le novità per quanto riguarda i siti di arrampicata. Nonostante Andonno non abbia perso smalto e resti ancora una delle più importanti falesie in Italia, questa nuova edizione perde il nome della vecchia regina ed è più democraticamente dedicata al territorio di Cuneo, oramai riconosciuto come importante realtà nell’ambito dell’arrampicata sportiva.

Sono presenti in questa guida numerosi siti storici già precedentemente descritti in altre pubblicazioni, ma che negli anni hanno visto modifiche e nuove chiodature, ed un buon numero di falesie attrezzate negli ultimi anni, che ad oggi non sono ancora state incluse in alcuna pubblicazione. Troviamo qui tutte le principali falesie delle valli Maira, Grana, Stura, Gesso e Vermenagna, compresa la straordinaria falesia di Casterino. Poi le valli Ellero, Maudagna, Corsaglia ed i principali siti della Valle Tanaro, compresa la famosa Pian Bernardo.

More than 15 years have passed since the first edition of Andonno e Cuneese, the first comprehensive guide to the Cuneo area edited by Severino Scassa. Over this long period, many new features have been added to the climbing scene. Although Andonno has lost none of its appeal and remains one of the most important crags in Italy, this new edition sheds the name of its former queen and is more democratically dedicated to the Cuneo area, now recognized as a major sport climbing destination.

This guide features numerous historic sites previously described in other publications, but which have seen modifications and new bolting over the years. It also includes a good number of crags bolted in recent years that have not yet been included in any publication. Here, we find all the main crags in the Maira, Grana, Stura, Gesso, and Vermenagna valleys, including the extraordinary Casterino crag. Then there are the Ellero, Maudagna, and Corsaglia valleys, and the main sites of the Tanaro Valley, including the famous Pian Bernardo.
