The northern Italian region between Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda is ideal for exploring by bike along the banks of charming rivers and lakes. The diversity of the landscape and the cultural highlights make cycling in northern Italy a very special experience.Lake Garda can be explored on two tours: A circular tour with a ferry crossing leads around the southern lake through popular holiday resorts such as Peschiera, Saló or Lazise. On the northern shore of the lake, a steep circular tour begins in Riva del Garda to the neighboring lakes to the west, Lake Idro and Lake Ledro, two picturesque Alpine lakes. The three river tours on the Oglio, Adda and Ticino are also characterized by impressive Alpine landscapes as well as magnificent lakes: The Oglio cycle path flows through Lake Iseo, the Adda through Lake Como and the Ticino through Lake Maggiore. Afterwards, all three meander through the vastness of the Po Valley to their mouths in the Po, Italy's longest river. The last tour connects the Ticino cycle path with the Adda cycle path along canals and crosses the worth seeing metropolis of Milan with its unique cathedral.
