A ride through history: a cycling itinerary along the Via Francigena that connects two unique places, Piazza del Campo and Piazza San Pietro. The last stretch of the Via Francigena leads from Piazza del Campo to Piazza San Pietro passing through southern Tuscany and Upper Lazio and is 280 kilometers long. To reach the banks of the Tiber and the splendid Basilica of San Pietro you cross the Val d'Arbia, the Val d'Orcia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Valle del Rigo, the Val di Paglia, the Valle del Treja, the Valle del Sorbo and numerous regional parks, while you can visit splendid villages such as Buonconvento, San Quirico d'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, Radicofani, Proceno, Acquapendente, Bolsena, Montefiascone, Vetralla, Campagnano, Formello and important cities such as Viterbo and Sutri. We gradually move from the profiles of the cypress trees to the volcanic cones of Mount Amiata and the Cimini Mountains, from the red earth to the black volcanic rock, from the well-kept Brunello vineyards to the expanses of hazelnut trees, from the chestnut woods to the tuff spurs.
