Description

CYCLING GUIDE

In the mountainous southwest of Germany, the Heidelberg-Black Forest-Lake Constance cycle path takes you across Baden-Württemberg over a distance of around 300 kilometers. The well-signposted and steep route leads through quiet, often rural regions, past medieval half-timbered towns and defiant fortresses, impressive natural spectacles and numerous cultural and historical treasures. You start in the old university town of Heidelberg. Through the hilly landscape of the Kraichgau you reach the “Gold City” of Pforzheim. On the extensive section in the eastern Black Forest you cycle through tranquil river meadows, over panoramic heights and through shady valleys. Towards the end of the cycle tour, you will wander through the castle-rich Hegau with its fascinating volcanic cones and, after wonderful descents, reach Germany's largest lake, Lake Constance, at the foothills of the Alps.
