Der EuroVelo 9 ist Teil des Europäischen Radfernroutennetzes und soll auf 1.930 Kilometern die polnische Ostseeküste mit der kroatischen Adria verbinden. Bereits ausgebaut und äußerst sehenswert ist der Abschnitt von der südmährischen Großstadt Brno über das Weinviertel nach Wien, durch den Wienerwald und die Wiener Alpen, weiter durch die Thermenregion in die Steiermark und schließlich nach Maribor in Slowenien. Auf der Strecke lernt man die mährische und österreichische Weinkultur kennen. Der Höhepunkt des EuroVelo 9 ist ohne Frage Wien, wo man entlang der Ringstraße sämtliche Prachtbauten erleben kann. Richtung Süden fährt man in den Wienerwald und danach verläuft die Strecke auf dem Thermenradweg zwischen Bad Waltersorf und Bad Radkersburg. Entlang der Weinstraßen, Kürbis- und Maisfelder eröffnet sich die Steiermark, das Grüne Herz Österreichs. Im Süden passiert man auf dem Murradweg die Grenze nach Slowenien und erreicht alsbald das Ziel der Strecke – Maribor, die zweitgrößte Stadt Sloweniens.

The EuroVelo 9 is part of the European long-distance cycle route network and is intended to connect the Polish Baltic coast with the Croatian Adriatic over a distance of 1,930 kilometers. The section from the South Moravian city of Brno via the Weinviertel to Vienna, through the Vienna Woods and the Vienna Alps, further through the thermal region to Styria and finally to Maribor in Slovenia has already been developed and is extremely worth seeing. On the route you can get to know the Moravian and Austrian wine culture. The highlight of the EuroVelo 9 is without question Vienna, where you can see all the magnificent buildings along the Ringstrasse. Heading south you go into the Vienna Woods and then the route runs along the thermal cycle path between Bad Waltersorf and Bad Radkersburg. Styria, the green heart of Austria, opens up along the wine routes, pumpkin and corn fields. In the south you cross the border to Slovenia on the Mur cycle path and soon reach the destination of the route - Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia.
