VON AACHEN NACH PARIS

Auf dem rund 560 km langen Teilstück des EuroVelo 3 radelt man entspannt entlang von Flüssen und Kanälen sowie über ehemalige Bahntrassen von Aachen nach Paris. Sie durchqueren Wiesen und Obstgärten, kleine mittelalterliche Städte und sehen jede Menge befestigte Kirchen. Die Route führt erst entlang der Maas, dann entlang der Sambre und auf der letzten Etappe durch das Tal der Oise, durch Waldgebiete und schließlich entlang des Canal de l’Ourcq in die Kulturmetropole Paris. Teilweise führt die Strecke über die „Radtour Stevenson“, die 2015 vom Europarat das Zertifikat „Kulturroute“ erhalten hat. Auf der Pilgerroute erleben Sie europäische Kultur und Geschichte in all ihren Facetten. Unterwegs entdecken Sie beeindruckende religiöse Gebäude wie die prächtigen Kathedralen von Aachen und Paris durchfahren idyllische Flusslandschaften und erleben aufregende Städte wie Liège, Namur und Paris. Und das alles auf großteils perfekt ausgebauten Radwegen ohne nennenswerte Steigungen.

On the approximately 560km long section of the EuroVelo3, you can cycle in a relaxed manner along rivers and canals as well as over former railway lines from Aachen to Paris. You will cross meadows and orchards, small medieval towns and see lots of fortified churches. The route first leads along the Meuse, then along the Sambre and on the last stage through the Oise valley, through forest areas and finally along the Canal de l'Ourcq to the cultural metropolis of Paris. Part of the route leads over the "Stevenson Cycle Tour", which received the "Cultural Route" certificate from the Council of Europe in 2015. On the pilgrim route you will experience European culture and history in all its facets. On the way you will discover impressive religious buildings such as the magnificent cathedrals of Aachen and Paris, drive through idyllic river landscapes and experience exciting cities such as Liège, Namur and Paris. And all this on mostly perfectly developed cycle paths without any significant gradients.
