Am "Grünen Band" von Lübeck nach Hof

Geschichte im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes erfahrbar zu machen – das ist das Ziel vom „Europa-Radweg Eiserner Vorhang“. Von der Barentssee bis zum Schwarzen Meer führt er an der Westgrenze der ehemaligen Warschauer Pakt-Staaten entlang quer durch Europa. Dabei verbindet die Route nicht nur europäische Kultur, Geschichte und nachhaltigen Tourismus, sondern leitet geschichtsinteressierte Radelnde auch durch abwechslungsreiche Landschaften und einzigartige Biotope des Europäischen Grünen Bandes, die im Grenzstreifen entstehen konnten. Dieser Band dokumentiert den etwa 1.100 Kilometer langen Teil der Route von Lübeck bis zum sächsisch-bayerisch-tschechischen Dreiländereck bei Hof entlang der ehemaligen deutsch-deutschen Grenze.

Making history tangible in the truest sense of the word - that is the goal of the "Iron Curtain European Cycle Route". From the Barents Sea to the Black Sea, it runs along the western border of the former Warsaw Pact states right through Europe. The route not only combines European culture, history and sustainable tourism, but also leads cyclists interested in history through varied landscapes and unique biotopes of the European Green Belt that were able to develop in the border strip. This volume documents the approximately 1,100-kilometer-long section of the route from Lübeck to the Saxon-Bavarian-Czech border triangle near Hof along the former German-German border.
