Im tschechischen Riesengebirge am Ursprung der Elbe beginnt die abwechslungsreiche und interessante Reise quer durch die liebliche Landschaft von Böhmen. Zahlreiche sehenswerte Städte säumen die 364 Kilometer lange Route, auf der Sie die Entwicklung der Elbe vom kleinen Rinnsal zum großen Fluss verfolgen können. Dabei gibt es jede Menge zu entdecken: Genießen Sie den Anblick der markanten Statuen beim ehemaligen Hospital in Kuks, besuchen Sie den einzigartigen Marktplatz in Hradec Králové oder das Ostböhmische Museum im Schloss von Pardubice. Lassen Sie die Spuren der böhmischen Geschichte in den kleinen Elbstädten Nymburk, Podebrady oder Stará Boleslav auf sich wirken und betrachten Sie vom hoch über dem Elbtal gelegenen Zentrum von Melník die Mündung der Moldau. Auch abseits der Route können Sie lohnenswerte Ziele ansteuern. Sehr empfehlenswert sind der Ausflug nach Kutná Hora, deren Altstadt zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört, und der Abstecher ins Zentrum der „Goldenen Stadt“ Prag.

The varied and interesting journey through the lovely Bohemian landscape begins in the Czech Giant Mountains at the source of the Elbe. Numerous towns worth seeing line the 364 kilometer long route, on which you can follow the development of the Elbe from a small trickle to a large river. There is a lot to discover: Enjoy the sight of the striking statues at the former hospital in Kuks, visit the unique market square in Hradec Králové or the East Bohemian Museum in the Pardubice Castle. Let the traces of Bohemian history take effect in the small Elbe towns of Nymburk, Podebrady or Stará Boleslav and look at the mouth of the Vltava from the center of Melník, located high above the Elbe valley. You can also go to worthwhile destinations off the route. Highly recommended are the trip to Kutná Hora, whose old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the detour to the center of the “Golden City” of Prague.
