Der Alpe Adria Radweg beginnt bereits mit einem Highlight – der Mozartstadt Salzburg. So geht es weiter – Schlag auf Schlag reihen sich die sehenswerten Täler aneinander auf Ihrem Weg an die Adria. Am Anfang das idyllische Salzachtal mit seinen saftig grünen Almen, gefolgt vom Gasteinertal mit dem absoluten Höhepunkt – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes – das hoch im Gebirge gelegene Bad Gastein und schließlich der Abschluss des ersten Abschnitts, die Tauernschleuse Böckstein-Mallnitz. Nach der Bahnfahrt geht es hinunter ins Mölltal – durch die beeindruckende Hochgebirgslandschaft gelangen Sie in das sonnige Drautal mit den sehenswerten Städten Spittal und Villach. Nach dem Gailtal folgt die Grenzüberquerung und schließlich landen Sie auf der alten Bahntrasse hoch über dem wild zerklüfteten Kanaltal. Nach dem Abschnitt entlang der Flüsse Tagliamento und Cormor erwartet Sie das lebendige Udine. Von hier durchqueren Sie die Ebene Richtung Adria – über Palmanova und Aquileia radeln Sie auf der historischen Via Julia Augusta in die Lagune und erreichen schließlich das ehemalige Fischerstädtchen Grado mit seinem quirligen Strandleben.

The Alpe Adria cycle path begins with a highlight – the Mozart city of Salzburg. This is how it continues - the valleys worth seeing line up one after the other on your way to the Adriatic. At the beginning the idyllic Salzach Valley with its lush green pastures, followed by the Gasteinertal with the absolute highlight - in the truest sense of the word - Bad Gastein, located high in the mountains and finally the end of the first section, the Tauernschleuse Böckstein-Mallnitz. After the train ride, you go down to the Mölltal - through the impressive high mountain landscape you reach the sunny Drautal with the towns of Spittal and Villach, which are well worth seeing. After the Gailtal you cross the border and finally you end up on the old railway line high above the wildly rugged canal valley. After the section along the Tagliamento and Cormor rivers, lively Udine awaits you. From here you cross the plain towards the Adriatic - via Palmanova and Aquileia you cycle on the historic Via Julia Augusta into the lagoon and finally reach the former fishing town of Grado with its lively beach life.
